Also fine with how slow the character moves and the knock-back (in fact most of these make the game challenging in a fun way). I'm fine with the choice to not let the main character crouch or aim the attacks. ![]() It just feels like I am being punished because of the control choice, not because I don't have the game knowledge or hand eye coordination. ![]() As a result the difficulty curve of this game just feels really skewed. Been grinding it for a like 4 hours now and still haven't been able to beat him. Then on his 2nd form, you have to attempt the same thing, except this time the projectiles are in mid air. On Subject Alpha phase 1, you basically have to parry all of his attacks if you want to do damage to him (took me a long time to get that one down). With the way it currently is, I can't seem to find the timing to get the parry to work especially in the air. Feels like a huge oversight to not even let us rebind the equipment button combos. Back in the day that was a thing because we had smaller controllers, now a days some devs still do it but typically its to the game's detriment. Like yes, this is a very nostalgic game but the old control schemes were not always the best especially when they tried to bind 30 actions to one button. I get that the developer was trying to emulate old 8 bit titles but they didn't need to completely translate over the controls too. Playing on a controller and having this move bound to forward is just terrible. Was really loving this game until I got the parry.
